Karen Norrick, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2001. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin in 1996.

Throughout her career, Dr. Norrick has focused primarily on family eyecare, providing care for patients of all ages. She joined Grabill Eye Center in 2024 and enjoys the friendly, small-town atmosphere it offers.

Dr. Norrick is an active member of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Ohio chapter. She has dedicated her time to over 15 mission trips to developing nations, including Haiti, Nicaragua, Peru, Panama, and several others. Her passion lies in providing care for individuals who have never had access to eyecare before.

Outside of work, Dr. Norrick is an active member of her community in Auburn. She has dedicated her time to over 15 mission trips to developing nations, including Haiti, Nicaragua, Peru, Panama, and Guatemala. Additionally, she is involved in her church and her children’s activities.

Dr. Norrick has been married to her husband, Dr. Doug Norrick, for over 20 years, and together they have three children. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, biking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

Madeline Hobbie, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University in 2021 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Indiana University in 2017. She was a member of the Indiana University Optometric Student Association, Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, and President of the Sports Vision Club.

She is currently a member of the Indiana Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Dr. Hobbie specializes in family eye care, contact lenses, post-operative care, and ocular diseases such as retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and dry eye.

She says eye health is so important because it tells us about our overall health and can help in diagnosing systemic conditions. Dr. Hobbie says her favorite part about being an OD is seeing the joy on a patient’s face when they put on their new glasses or contact lenses and can see the world clearly again.

She loves getting to know each patient and helping them to understand their eye health better. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and two German Shepherds, cheering on Indiana University, playing sand volleyball, boating, and scuba diving.

Kara Heine Laughlin, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry with Honors and is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. She studied Pre-Optometry at Vanderbilt University.

Since starting in her field, Dr. Laughlin has become experienced in all areas of eye health care, including working in local Ft. Wayne practices with heavy contact lens and dye disease emphasis. She founded Grabill Eye Center in 2011 and enjoys caring for and talking with patients of all ages.

She is licensed by the Indiana Optometry Board and the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. Since returning home, she has been involved in her community and has served past and presently with the following organizations: Cedar Creek Lions Club, Adams Township Advisory Board, Girls on the Run of Northeast Indiana, New Haven High School Alumni Association, and the Christian Community Health Care clinic. She and the practice are also members of the Grabill Chamber of Commerce where Dr. Laughlin previously served on the board of directors.

When she is not treating patients, Dr. Laughlin enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children and going to the lake. She also enjoys watching and playing a variety of sports, cooking/baking, and photography.
