Meet Dr. Jonathan VanGessel (Grabill, IN)

Jonathan VanGessel, O.D., received his Doctor of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2019. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Optometry from Indiana University Bloomington in 2015.

Dr. VanGessel provides comprehensive eye care and enjoys helping patients protect their vision and overall eye health. During optometry school, he served as president of the Indiana University Optometry Student Association and was a member of several academic and leadership honor societies.

He completed clinical rotations in primary eye care, ocular disease, dry eye care, and post-operative cataract care at several respected healthcare facilities. He also gained additional experience working in a general ophthalmology and cataract surgery practice.

Originally from Avilla, Indiana, Dr. VanGessel chose optometry because he wanted to make a positive difference in people's lives through healthcare. He enjoys building lasting relationships with his patients and providing personalized care. Outside of the office, he enjoys playing ice hockey, golfing, and spending time with his wife, Grace.
